The Oldman River Potters Guild organizes workshops, classes and other learning opportunities for its members and the community. Throughout its rich history, dozens of talented clay artists have shared skills and ideas through the guild.

Adult Clay Exploration

January 21, 28 & February 4, 2021

 

 Session 1: hand building

Session 2: wheel introduction

Session 3: surface design 

This class will run for 3 sessions (one day a week) for 3 hours each night, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and the fee is $100. 

Class limited to 8 people.

Wheel Throwing Class

Beginner's Wheel Class

October 22nd - December 3rd, Thursdays

Note: No class November 12th. 

 

 First time or build on your skills, come explore clay on the wheel with us!

Learn about the entire process, from raw clay to glazed, food safe pieces. We will walk to through each step, giving you lots of time to practice. 

This class will run for 6 sessions (one day a week) for 3 hours each night, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and the fee is $180.00. Materials and firings included, and you keep your tools after the class.

Class limited to 8 people.

Hand Building Class

These classes will run for 6 sessions (one day a week) for 3 hours each night, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and the fee is $180.00.  This will include ½ box of clay, tools, glaze materials and firing cost.  Full payment must accompany registration. Course participants will be accepted in the order their applications are received. Any registration received after the course is full will be wait-listed and contacted if an opening becomes available. Class limited to 8 people. 

This class is designed to introduce the students to the complete ceramic cycle of form making, surface treatments to firing. You will learn methods such as pinch, coil, slab and their ceramic histories. More advanced participants choose investigate the use of templates and molds.
