Fall Handbuilding Class

This is a beginner to intermediate level handbuilding class.   Students will learn the basics of working with clay, hand-forming pieces and surface decoration.  A background in kiln firing is also included.  Projects are geared towards beginner and intermediate level makers. Using the basic forming methods of slab and coil, we will explore templates, darting and molds; various approaches to surface decoration are integrated into these activities.  There will be a new project each week and each week some time will be alloted for completion of the previous week's project.  Some additional time is also alloted for drying, bisque firing, glazing, and glaze firing.  Participants vary in experience level from total novice to intermediate.  Create some wonderful projects to take home!
